About PacificAgroecology
Understanding the principles and people behind our mission to transform food systems in the Pacific region.
What is Agroecology?
Agroecology is an integrated approach that simultaneously applies ecological and social concepts and principles to the design and management of sustainable food and agriculture systems. It seeks to optimize the interactions between plants, animals, humans, and the environment while taking into consideration the social aspects that need to be addressed for a sustainable and fair food system.
“Our mission is to cultivate resilient and equitable food systems through participatory research, education, and community engagement. We bring together diverse stakeholders to co-create knowledge and action for a sustainable future.”
